Our Korean friends at DViCo (http://www.dvico.com) just don't stop bringing new and great features to the M-5000U. The latest Beta version 1.9.8 (ftp://ftp.dvico.com/Products/TViX/FirmWare/M-5000/Beta) (use at your own risk) incorporates ShoutCast Web Radio support using .PLS and .M3U play lists and even that is already great, several other improvementes are included. DViCo, which was unknown in Europe a year ago, has grwon to become the most popular and without any doubt, the best HDD based media Player today and the coverage of MPC has helped spread the name to become familiar.
Do yourself a favor and get one for this year's Christmas. This is "the" player that makes the progress much faster then any other product and does it well to. DViCo delivers constantly what we hope all companies do but never realize.
Beside Web Radio support, DViCo's development team under skillfull guidance of Harry Lee, product manager at DViCo, is working on implementing FLAC for the audioholics amongst us wishing for a lossless audio codec (internal QA is being processed) and improvements to the Icon Mode browsing. The M-4000 model which comes in the M-3100 design but has the capabilities of the M-5000U (and will be more affordeable) is shipped as of next week to Europe along with a unit for MPC for review.
Also the M-5101 was briefly discussed and without going in too many details, we have to say it just ain't ready yet. Whenever the M-5100, which should be based on the EM8623 chip is in the pipeline, we will be informed.
