Default Mkv and Subtitles

Hi,

Do you guys know how to remove the subtitle file out of a mkv

Let say you have a movie with english subtitles embedded into the mkv file, and you just wanna disable the subtitle so that you can use an dutch external one...

But i wanna do this without any quality loss..

Has anyone a little guide how to do it please ??

You don't have to do this. if on the TViX the subtitles inside the MKv show
they are hard coded as TViX not yet supports mkv subtitles embedded. The
external file (srt) will play if it has the same name as the movie just like
with DivX and XVID.

(If hard coded, you can't remove them)

Yes i know jack,

But i just want to take counter messures if the TVIX will gonna support it in the future...

Therefore i wanna disable them and just add the external srt file with the movie..

Because which sub is the TIVX gonna show if the unit is gonna support embedded subtitles..

One way is with VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=65889). The subtitles are in the streams list, they can be removed, extracted / disabled.

There's also MKVTools (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix). Compared to VirtualDubMod, MKVTools is updated more recently and has better support of MKV format. I find VDM easier to use, but MKVTools is the better app. It can demux the mkv file into it's individual streams ( including subs ) and remux the parts you want to keep.
