Default Is the Mini, Mac friendly?

Can the Mini read from a HFS+ formatted external drive?
This is essential for me, and so far only the NMT's offer it.
It was also flagged that some extra features would be added before release.
Please tell me that Flac support is one of them.
Are there any other reasons to wait for this, over an NMT?
With the Aussie dollar in steady decline I'd like to make a decision quickly.

Dune products have nothing to do with NMT. It's totally separate own development by HDI - High Definition Israel.

FLAC will be supported by all Dune models in November.
