Default firmware tools and has anyone made a new firmware

Hi all i see there are some firmware hacking tools now available so we make our own firmwares. Lordofthecube has made a tool called emcxt. The manual for it is avaible here
http://amran.de/media/MHDWorld/EMCXT_manual_V101.pdf
the software is available here
http://www.jorritwellink.nl/mhdworld/EMCXT_v211.rar

i have used the software to expand a firmware but have not used it to compile one as yet. Does anyone know of anyone who has done this? The forum seems to have gone very quiet these days.
cheers JJ

I would like to see more video formats supported. MVK would be number 1 on my list.

i doubt the hardware is powerful enough to do mkv. Does anyone know any different. we could have a look as some of the similar machines and see if any of those do mkv
