seems like it. The last firmware update is from june 2009, and there have been several more from syabas since then..

Kaiboer itself is not dead, but they are not going to update k100 and k200 for sure. Couple days ago I called to Kaiboer support, and was told that the last (june2009) firmware is good (stable) enough and there are no plans for any update. And in case I needed DTS downmix I could use the PCH fw.!!!!! Also was told that in a couple of months there will be the new player based on SMP8642.

so, does the PCH firmware work on the K100, then? Somebody was going to try this out, but we haven't heard from him since (hope nothing went wrong ).

If it does, what reason would there be not to upgrade?
