Re: Dune firmware update (120608_1420_beta and 120608_1421_beta)
I did have some code on my computer polling the IP control for status updates, but I'd be really surprised if that could cause a problem. Disabling animations does get rid of the sluggishness, and I haven't seen the flashing screen since the 120608_1420_beta update.

I just hate having to do library update and artwork lookup on PC/Laptop first.... Besides, I move files around often and that screw up master library... (BTW, i use Mymovie)..
bottomline it's my laziness... ha ha
so I figure if only dune can add popup menu option to perform artwork lookup/download/creat-from-snapshot on the selected file automatically would be a very nice feature to have...
No biggie though.., this is just cosmetic..

Yeah.... I think I know what you mean, like the WD TV Live does. I have the same number of drives as you do but I just built a nas and used flexraid. It all just appears as one drive which works nicely with My Movies. The index is on there as well.

Re: Dune firmware update (120608_1420_beta and 120608_1421_beta)
I installed this firmware and it works quite well. No problems so far.
Still the features I miss most are not in. After playing with a popcorn I feel stupid - everything I want seems to be implemented there (mainly a proper ass-subtitle engine).

Re: Dune firmware update (120608_1420_beta and 120608_1421_beta)
Hello
I've made no upgrade since February. When worked properly.
I installed this beta now and started having a lot of network problems. This was very slow and sometimes freezes. The reading of the dune stream it from my PC became very slow and sometimes impossible to use. There was a change at the level of network Dune? I think I'll return again to the soft fev/2012.

I see the same issue, i turn on any of my three Dunes. The commands are very quick and responsive. I start a movie, then if i stop the movie and try to move cursors are the Dune is very delayed and often takes two to three button presses to respond.
Here the part that makes me think its code related: i can turn the dune off to standby and immediately power back on and its fine again until i start and stop a movie ISO.
Any ideas?

No idea, but I think you could be right about the cause. I think it might be related to the IP control bug where "player_state" remains "file_playback" after playback has ended.
On the other hand, I've not seen the flashing screen so far so I think that was fixed.

Re: Dune firmware update (120608_1420_beta and 120608_1421_beta)
Is it recommended to update the firmware to this one?

Not for any particular reason. There's still no word on what has actually changed in this release, just some speculations. Best thing to do is try for yourself and roll back to a previous version if something is completely ruined for you. But I doubt that would happen.
