Dune BD1, Synology NAS: very slow directory read
I have a 10T filesystem with one directory containing 164 bluray .isos. When I access this folder via either SMB or NFS, it takes 6-17 seconds to open on the Dune HD B1. Opening the same folder in Windows7 is instantaneous. Turning on SMB logging on the Syn, it shows that the Dune is "reading" all 164 files on open. Obviously its not reading the whole file, but it seems to at least be opening them. This happens every time I descend/ascend into this folder. This does not happen when Windows accesses the folder.
A different directory with a large collection of JPEGs does not have the same problem, so this seems to be Dune/.iso related.
Any ideas?
I have a Synology DS1511+ with latest firmware 4.0-2288 (also happens on older firmware)
I have a Dune HD B1 with latest beta firmware (also happens on older firmware)
I have no trouble playing movies and everything is hardwired 1Gbit.
A possible side effect of this problem is that my Control4 media navigation fails the first time I try to show a movie after Dune poweron. The second time, it works fine.
Unrelated: "Play lite" is _awesome_.

Re: Dune BD1, Synology NAS: very slow directory read
Yes, I am having the same problem with a almost a similar setup (DS1511+ with DX510 fully loaded with 2T drives running RAID 5) too but mine files are 90% BDMV folders and 10% BD-ISO.
What I believe is that the Dune is "scanning" the whole directory which takes a little more time to scan than with a directory consists manly of mkv.
To get around this, on power-up the dune, I manually browse the network share (connecting the share) first before proceed with any other operation like the yaDIS or Zappiti jukebox to play a particular file.
Alternatively, is to place the Dune on stand-by mode.

So even if you use Zappiti or Yadis to play a movie, the Dune will still scan the entire directory of files just to play one movie?
That is hard to believe.
