Default yaDIS software wont scrape movie info. HELP!!

Hello peeps. Well here I am a newbie who has ate too much cabbage and I'm feeling a windy pups. Anyway that's way too much info for now so save that for laters if ya would like to know more just ask, lol.. Feck away off I was joking, loll.

My problem is this I installed yaDIS and have films on DVD which I ripped using DVDFab lying on my computer hard drive so I downloaded yaDIS version 2.1.3 hit setup go to the folder location and import all my films, they then appear in yarDIS on the left hand side Apollo 18 being one of them. I click on it and hit Process a window pops up which says processing complete, click on close to continue. When I hit close nothing happens, just a big grey screen to the right with a small piccy icon with a red x through it.

I thought it was supposed to scrape title artwork sound running time film size on disc etc etc, just wont work for me any ideas? I'm baffled altogether, and it has me beat spent this evening trying to figure it out and nothing I give up, so please please, pretty please. Someone help..

Any thoughts as to where I am going wrong, I will be or was hoping to use my new Dune Duo HD, which works perfectly by the way..

I do hope someone replies quick as I am left scratching my head and it's not often that happens as I am pretty savvy with these things..

I was going to use Zappiti but that program now refuses to boot I am using windows 7 32 or 64 bit on separate partitions.

OK Two things:

Firstly you sound barking mad but I suppose it helps being that way sometimes.

Secondly, I posted a similar thread a while ago about A Monster in Paris movie. It will never scrape. I have deleted it from the HDD and deleted all reference to it on the Yadis. Started from scratch and sure enough it won't scrape, just leaves the big screen with the little red cross on it.

Mine is stranger though in that it does find the artwork and details, when you choose "Change Title" but when you choose it and click OK - Nothing!!!!!

Go the next movie in the list and say Process and it will change all its artwork and details to A Monster in Paris LOL even though it's not that movie.

As for getting a reply on here about it, I wouldn't hold your breath. Replies on this forum are few and far between in my experience. Other than a guy called Mr Eric who has helped me a lot on things, I doubt you'll get a reply other than mine but I truly hope someone does prove me wrong and gives a solution

Firsit of all, I think it is best for you to install the latest yaDIS 2.2 instead of 2.1.3 which I believe most of yaDIS users already upgraded to ver 2.2

Here is the dl yaDIS 2.2 link: http://www.mediafire.com/?6i66avohuqw3dmw

Also can you provide us a screenshot of the yaDIS setup page showing the general setup detail settings ie dune interface location,

Hi,

To prove Darnun wrong...there are plenty of guys willing to help. But the willingness depends on the info given. Yours, albeit almost poetic, is not too informative

We'll give it a go though
  1. Follow up the advice of WaterZoo and install the latest version
  2. You use Win7 32/64 and both yaDIS and Zapp don't work as they suppose to. Check your firewall settings in Windows and possibly your router. yaDIS needs Internet access when scraping and Zapp needs it at startup. So......
  3. Check your media folders for hidden files or other anomalies. yaDIS does not like that.
  4. If after re-install of yaDIS scraping still fails, move the contents of the workspace to another folder and start again. Pick one movie and try.
  5. And a screen-shot of your yaDIS config might be helpful

Hahaha Very happy to be proven wrong if there is a solution.

I have sorted my Monster in Paris problem out now. Simply deleted everything relating to it and then download a different version. Works fine now.

Hi fartnut,

Let's see....I am assuming you want to export to one of your hard disks in your Duo. I am not entirely familiar with that setup but I can give it a try

First you will need to know the storage UUID's or the storage labels of the two drives in your Duo. These labels are needed for yaDIS to know how to create the links / short cuts.

You then select your preferred disk (let's say the Storage_label is Disk1) and tell yaDIS to export to that disk. You can tell yaDIS that in the options tab in the interface (eport path).

After the export you place the disk in your Duo and browse to "Disk1". You should find an entry called "yaDIs". Select that and lo and behold! you have an interface

Well Sjonnie. I will try that erm!! Well I will try and understand this particular way of setting this up, I will report back in due course to let you all know how it has all gone.

I found a version of Zappiti that works for me too and it scrapes everything and seems to be a wee bit better looking than the yaDIS anyway keep the info coming and I will report back with the news everything is working.. Yes just a final note I prefer to take the hard drive out of my dune and connecting the hard drive to my computer rather than having to bring this slab of metal called the dune hd duo to the computer so just extracting the hard drive to transfer and update movie titles would be fantastic for me to be able to do it like that.

Hi fartnut,

Zappiti is OK if you don't mind registering. The standard look 'n feel of yaDIS may not be to your liking but it has the possibility to use skins/templates to alter the interface. Have a look at the template thread over here to see some truly beautiful examples.

You don't have to move the entire player to your PC. The disk(s) will do just fine. As long as you can separate them by name or UUID at your PC. I would suggest to access the disks over the network. That way you don't have to take your disk(s) out at all. Many topics have covered the ins and outs of this setup. Search this forum for a good start.
