IFA would be an ideal launch point but I couldn't comment on timescales in more detail than I have already mentioned.

I'm looking forward to IFA this year. Last year was my first trip so I was a noob

I was looking for a good ISO BD 3D player for a long time,
I got yesterday (from china ebay reseller) the HiMedia HD910B. It promises very well according to the following demo video:

Realtec players don't support autoframerate. You could use just one fixed framerate with the option to switch to 24p. Even with this it doesn't support 23,976Hz. Just 24Hz and somewhat 23,99Hz are supported.
