Set up yaDIS with Synology NAS
Dear All,
I'm quite new in this field, so please be gentle with me, even if I put, let's say dump questions. I saw that on MCP this question already was asked, but as I told earlier, I’m lousy with the computer – I’m not really understand what I should do.
I have the following set up:
- HDI Dune Base 3.0 media player; connected to a home network
- I have WD HDD in the Dune
- I have a NAS Synology DS 212+, connected to a network
- I have connected thru USB 3 external WD MyBook HDD to the NAS
- I use a Linksys E4200 router to manage the network
I installed yaDIS on the NAS in order to use it as an interface for Dune. I selected the path to the HDD and NAS, when I try to use yaDIS from the Dune is not opening the URL. I receive always the same error message "Failed to open URL". The only URL that the yaDIS open are from the internal HDD of the Dune.
The path used for the yaDIS are:
nfs://192.168.1.100/volumeUSB1/shareusb1-1/
nfs://192.168.1.100/volumeUSB2/shareusb2-1/
nfs://192.168.1.100/volumeUSB3/shareusb3-1/
but is not working.
So, please be king and help me out to set up yaDIS to work on my system. But if you will write a command line, please be explicit as possible.
Thank you in advance.
Flavius

Re: Set up yaDIS with Synology NAS
Keep the same path but replace Nfs by SMB. You won't see any difference for playback and SMB is easier to configure...

The colon behind the ip is missing, e. g. nfs://192.168.1.100:/volumeUSB1/shareusb1-1/

Re: Set up yaDIS with Synology NAS
...and if hh32's solution does not do it, place a ":" behind volumeUSBx as well.
And some other tips in case you would like to export yaDIS to a share on the NAS.
You must enable NFS but I guess you already did that.
Setup your NFS privileges right on the folders you want to use with yaDIS :
Client: 192.168.1.0/24 (this effectively allows all computers on your LAN access to the shares)
Privilege: read/write (this has proven to be the only setting that works in my set-up)
Root Squash: Map to Admin (same reason as above)

Re: Set up yaDIS with Synology NAS
Thank you for your support. I have saved my movies with the complete BluRay disk structure. How can I setup yaDIS to play directly the stream with the movie, or to play it as a BD Disk. Can be set up yaDIS to difference the two play mode?
Thank again.

Re: Set up yaDIS with Synology NAS
If Yadis fills in an IPv6 address, make sure you replace this with an IPv4 address. (Dune HD doesn't understand IPv4)
