I see. I've actually never used either DFI or the PHP plugins.

It seems like this would really need to be coordinated with one of the media libraries (Yadis, Zappiti, MyMovies). You wouldn't want to have to reinvent all the metadata and library organization.

Where does DFI get his metadata?

I know that MyMovies uses a Microsoft SQL Server, which could run on WHS. Conceivably the plugin could access that same db, or we could somehow extract out the data from there and into Sqlite on the Dune.

MyMovies has an export option which lets you export your metadata to XML, but it doesn't work both ways so you can't update the 'watched count'. I do think it's very possible to make a browser that's customized to MyMovies XML export, but there would be little gain. You'd have to do a full export everytime you make a change, while the Dune index is automatically updated where necessary.

Anyways that's besides the point because we want to get this thing running on SQL.
