Default Dune HD Max - Folders doesnt show

Hey guys.

Just bought a Dune HD Max and so far im very pleased but I have 1 annoying problem.
Ive made a connection to a specific folder on my PC where I store my movies and it works great up until I add a new movie.
It just wont show the new movie folder on my Dune even if I restart both PC and Dune.

But If I move that folder to another folder that do show I can see it perfectly.
This is very annoying and I hope there is a solution for this so that I wont have to move around folders for them to show.

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid I don't have any explanation or solution, but this is definitely not normal.

What protocol are you using? (SMB, NFS, UPnP?)

Im using SMB.

It feels like it doesnt update correctly but like you said its really weird, cause why show some but not all?
Noticed yesterday that moving the folders doesnt always work so the only way to make sure I can watch it is to copy the folder to the Dune internal HDD.

Dont know how the Dune normaly behaves since ive only had it for about one week. But ive noticed it usually check for queue sheets and I was thinking that it perhaps creates a "playlist" and when I connect it reads from that and shows the files that is in this list instead of whats actually on the hdd. I dont know, just speculating here =)

Last time I looked using a packet analyzer, the Dune file browser only looked for dune_folder.txt files or BDMV folders in the working directory. Why do you believe it tries to find cue sheets?

Unless you do have a weird dune_folder.txt configuration, it should present all the files and directories that you share with the Dune. I can't think of anything other than messed up filesystem permissions if not.

Does this issue occur only when browsing your PC shares?

Yes its only when im browsing my PC. USB works as it should.
Ive never been good with networking so perhaps there is some strange setting that im not aware of but it still seems really weird.
Used PS3 with PMS before and never had any issue with it when it comes to PC browsing.

Wait, are you using PMS to share the files?

No, I used to do it when I had my PS3.

I'm out of ideas then.

Judging by the symptoms, the problem is not on your Dune player but somewhere in the file sharing service on your computer.

You could try enabling full permissions for everyone on your shared folder, that would at least rule out user restrictions as a possible cause. But I doubt that's the problem considering that the shares are not even visible.
