I RMA'd my DP-600 for replacement (impressed that UPS come to my door to get it). After a week I got a mail that it is on backorder. They stopped making the thing

Anyways, since I got no response from a mail I sent them I was wondering if any of you have the same problem. Winter holiday is coming up and I want to see some movies...

stopped production until next year and i'm not sure they will start up the
DP-600 again. For the VR-558 it is said they will...

Repairs don't depend on new production, they depend on refurbished players...

I disagree,

It's not a piece of shit as you eloquently put it.
Until the HDMI outpu stopped functioning it did what I wanted:
Played burned DVD's, played DivX, Xvid, Xvid HD and MP3 over wireless network. With better picture and easier handling than my PC did before.

I have no idea wether other mediaplayers are better but I know what the DP-600 offers me.

I've read a number of your posts, they never give any real information since you are always using bad english, gross overstatements and post in any thread just to back KISS.

By the way, stop complaining about being banned. Follow the forum rules as the rest of us do.

Well there are still some positive sides on the machine, don't forget that. It's a new kind of entertainment that still needs finetuning. The fact that this finetuning will probably be forgotten about by KiSS/Linksys (it's much more economically advantagous to make a new machine) combined with the current flaws in the machine make it a worthless investment.

Not the flaws of the current machine make it worthless: with the right firmware it can do a lot of nice things very well. And cheap.

I can't agree on Arghh what an stupid mistake buying this thing, but if they have stoped making this product we will for sure not see more than one update, maby two if somethings really got screwed up in the coming update.

But I hope i'm wrong here. This is a great player, gives me what I want except for some buggs, that I really hope they would fix.

So, now it's been two months.

In the first mail I got from KISS conferming that they had received the unit thay said one week delivery.

Then a mail that the DP-600 was on backorder.

Three days ago I called support and the girl there first said that they had units in stock but then talked to some guy and said she was unsure. She promised to get back by email.

Still no mail after three days. Could it be that hard to check the inventory?

Anyway. I am not as happy with support as with the product.

We'll see what happens with the new firmare and also if I ever get a replacement unit. If it doesn't work out maybe I'll go for a nonwireless player and a wireless bridge instead. (just hate those cables)
