Default Snazio gone Crazy? Rumors...

Mmmmhhhh, never had rumors from Snazio* before, or should i say Snavio?
MPC picked up that Snazio is working on a unit called the Net Presenter
which will be released under the "Snavio" brand name, yet another
subsidiary of VOne Multimedia. The unit specifications are unknown to date
but rumour's have it that it will be based on the SZ1310 Net Cinema HD.

The design of the unit is available and can be seen on the following page:
http://www.snavio.com/SnaVio_Presenter.asp

Notice that this product is not certain the Net presenter but it looks exactly
like it and might actually be the unit at discussion in this thread. We'll see.
The difference between the SZ1310 Net Cinema HD and the new Snavio net
presenter is that the latter one has an integrated Hard Drive (2.5inch). More
worried I am about the rumours the retail price is expected to launch at
around 850$ (650 Euro) which is more then overkill considering the small
difference against the SZ1310 which retails at 279 Euro (and also is quoted
as being expensive).

It doesn't look like Snazio or Snavio will be able to return to a competing
seat in the market if this all seems to be the truth. Off course Snazio can
not confirm or deny anything yet considering all is expected to be "not
ready for public" yet...

Especially remaining overpriced with the minor changes made to the net
presenter against previous models will cause serious damage for the brand
in Europe and cause existing cooperations to be in danger. MPC for
instance will not review / report or support the unit when being so clearly
overpriced against the additional features the unit has to offer and the
cheap materials used...

Especially if we look back on 2006 with only minor updates and support, the
price also not justifies the 'return" in support and updates. We are sceptic
but clearly announce these are only rumours at this moment... More info
will be offered as soon as Snazio does inform us about rather they went
Crazy or not or can confirm the only difference is actually the 2.5inch
HDD...

To be continued...

Enjoy

We are not sure the presenter shown on that page is the presenter these
rumours are based upon. The products listed in the news from half year
ago, are for professional vendors (Providers) and not for custom use...

We had that news half year ago but did not run the story since these
products did not concern us. What we now hear is that "a" version of the
presenter is going to be released as a consumer product...

That products is based upon SZ1310 with 2.5" hdd at twice the price...
(We in the mean time got confirmed that from Snazio that it is not the same device and that it is mend only for the ADVERTISING INDUSTRY...)

Sorry Woziak
