While we previously already released the code for the Z500, we can now
confirm the Ziova CS-505 handles the same method of making it Region
Free. It is added to our Knowledge Base ( http://kb.mpcclub.com ) but we'll
list it here as well...

- Enter SETTINGS menu
- Scroll to DVD SETUP
- Scroll down to REGION
- Enter 1590
- Press OK until desired setting is displayed
- Scroll down to APPLY SETTINGS
- Press OK to save and exit!

Will this work for RCE encoded DVD's as well as I understand the Helios x3000 although region free can't play RCE DVD's.
I'm hoping the Ziova can

I am not 100% sure but so far it played ~15 US DVDs I tried.

I guess worst case - you can go to menu and change region to 1 temporarily.
