I've been able to configure (following the manual, thx Hi-jack) the streaming of a DVD from PC , but it plays slowly and with no sound on my 4100SH.. (i've tried NFS and Samba)
I think it's not a connection problem since i can see 10GB movies from PC's HD using NFS.
Any idea?

It should work fine. You are not using wireless or firewalls? Anti virus On access scanner?

For sound, check the sound setup on the TVIX.

mmm. Good point with access scan from AV. I'm using Norton Corporate and it uses a "real time protection" that checks every file accessed.
(is it possible that NFS access does not fire the scan?)

i've been testing a bit.
Antivirus disabled
DVD (tested 3) --> no success (slow motion & no sound)
1.5GB Movie --> success
2,5GB Movie --> Success
Could it be the speed of the DVD-ROM?
Specifications (philips DVD 8801) are 12-16x DVD Read

You are running AnYDVD in the background right to lift the security of the
DVD's you use?

Any other DVD drive you can test with?
Seems strange it runs slow unless off course your network is lagging...
Further test would require cross link setup... (long test to setup if one does
not know how to do it exactly )

i will configure another pc and try.
It's strange indeed. I can serve from the PC HD 10GB movies to the tvix and they play fantastic.

I've made some more tests.

I ripped one of the DVDs to the PC hard disk, opened the .ifo and got the same problems (slow video + no sound)
If i open the .vob files they play ok (but, of course, no language change is possible)

Copied the ripped DVD to the Tvix HD. It played well opening the .ifo

I've got identical results with firm 1.2.23 and 1.2.27.

i did more tests with some HD movies in the PC HD, and all of them worked very well. (h264 mkv, from 1.5 GB to 7GB, 720p & 1080p)

i'm a bit lost If it was a network problem why i can see movies with much more MB that the DVDs? And, why i can see the .vob ¿?

Maybe this should be moved to another thread?

Beats me too...
If i'd be there, i'd find the ause. From a disctance, not possible...

I'm sure it has to be come software conflict / scanner or something else on
your PC causing this... (memory?, driver conflicts?) Hard to analuze this way...
