This afternoon I have upgraded my old BLT to Japanise FW 21.09, its on the US site (www.verenkoff.com/update1277.html). If you follow the instuction on the site at the top about changing the language its very usable. The region defaults to 2 but there is a procedure for changing that. The GUI seems much faster and on WiFi you have the option of WPA as well as WEP security. All the network settings are reset along with any servers you have setup. A few of the icons on screen remain with non-english characters so this upgrade is only for the die hard user.

On advice from the bltowners group on Yahoo I re-installed the UI patch on top of the 21.x Japanise FW. This renames the text in the icons to English, the only difference now is the display is in NTSC, but I am going to try component with some of the HD resolutions so thats not too much of an issue.
