To fully function as a MC i need the ability to pick up live (multicast and unicast) streams, preferably over either rtp or udp, not only from the internet, but also from the home lan.
Has anyone an idea if this is possible with the Tank?

A little talk about Mediaportal. I tried this at first about a year ago but a lot of stuff just did not work. Recently i did another attempt and it has matured enormously!
Everything you wish and more. These days you can build yourself a silent PC with enough power to play out H.264 for less then 700 euro.
Only drawback of MP is that you have to read the manuals very carefully.
