Default Buying a Ziova

Hey all, first I am new to these products.
I would buy a KISS 1600 but after reading the reviews I considder buying a Ziova.
what I could not find in the specs (maybe I did not see it because its all new for me) can I stream HD movie files from my harddisk to the player either with
networkcable or USB and I mean movies which I download from internet.(legal in my country)
Good thing is this player is availlable in my town from now.
Paul.

Yes you can both with uPnP and SMB stream to the payer from PC or
networked storage. SMB is kind of like the same thing you would do
with sharing a folder between PC's

Out of the two players in your list, the Ziova is deffinately the better option
for network use.

Now my choice is made another question.
I see that there is a Ziova with and without DVD player.
Do I need the DVD player inside ,because I have a good DVD player with surround amplifier and loudspeakers.
Or is the Ziova DVD player able to upscale normal DVD's like KISS promisses?
Paul.

I am not quite understand "or" part you comparing color of oranges with taste of bananas

But Ziova does upscale, however the upscaler is not "high end" , not bad but if you have high end equipment I would use it for DVDs.

Also I would wait before buying (~til the end of the month) for 2.0 firmware. Since it's major rewrite it can make current player into completely different player (same as it was with KiSS KNAS) so the turn can be both for good and for bad.

At least wait for Hi0-Jack's report on 2.0 beta

Or if you don't need built-in dvd player, look for a DVICO TViX M-4/5100...

And that report should come in tomorrow if i remember correctly. Ziova
planned on offering me a sneak peak at the firmware or at least with some
intel about the status and progress... I'm looking forward to that part as it
has taken some longer time then expected...

Thanks for the input people I think I will wait till the new firmware comes and I read the reviews you will make.
about the upscaling.I was curious when you put a normal DVD into the Ziova it can upscale to better quality on my HD ready TV.
my current DVD player can't.
