FINAL LIST

Ok, we have prepared a mail to DvICo to point at the importance of ISO
file fixes now once again, even though they already agreed it was the next
obvious step...

The most burning issues I can derrive from the feedback of y'all and
private PM's and mails (please try to limit these as i'm extremely busy
already) is the following for the next beta / final...

MPC Feedback TopList 1.2.23
Fixed already on Beta Level 1.2.25:
- L5.1 encoding (1080p macroblocks)
- DTS sound drop issues

Major Importance ISO fixes
General playback issues and instability with ISO files should be addressed.
Major feature makes this our top priority after the success of 1080p.

Medium Importance:
- Aspect non standard resolution
Offer ability to play in correct aspect ratio for non standard resolution files
(native resolution playback without resizing like 92X720 played on 720p
output settings squeezes the movie)
- AAC Audio mkv / HDMI
- MKV Embedded subtitles
- Fix for SUB/IDX subtitles (crash player)

- Slideshow enhancements (remove OSD notice)

General Fixes to check
- WMV HD issues in playback (sound)
- Sound drops on MP3 music
When playing music, mp3, wave, the song starts to play for
2 seconds, then pauses, then starts over again. This happens when
selecting a single file, or when song a is over, and next song starts.
- Brightness in 1080p video mode too dark against other output options
- Trick play sometimes unstable (need be more stable)
- Copy function from NAS seems failing often
- 24p loose from NTsc/PAL auto swicthing (seperate setting)
- Icon browsing has become very slow. Took away memory from menu loading?

PS: Random MKV's sometimes play wrong until player is rebooted.
Seems as a memory leak?
Anything severe missing we should add?
List leaves tomorrow evening so adding more is for the next 24 hours

I agree. Actually, I have more problems with AVI than I do with ISO.

Does this mean AAC in MKV doesn't output on HDMI? For me, it doesn't output on the SP/DIF either. I can only get it through analog output.

If you haven't already sent the email to Dvico, perhaps you could make a note of the 24khz audio problem that I've been experiencing (http://www.mpcclub.com/modules.php?n...wtopic&t=13659).

I'm not sure if anyone else has been able to confirm this to be a problem yet, but I've attached a sample file in the thread so it should be easy enough to see if it's happening for everyone. (http://www.naxosaudiobooks.com/AUDIO/downloadsample.mp3)

For the 24p issues, try setting output to DVI and see if the same issue is
still valid... Need this for further discussion of the proble...

I'm having some problems playing 1080p WMV Files (VC1 codec with WMA 6ch Audio) on my TViX with 1.2.23 (6-8GB in size). This works fine for the first parts but - usually in the later parts of the movie - the audio begins to stutter. The video continues to run smoothly but I'm experiencing random dropouts in the audio and sometimes these dropouts go longer than the previous sound period.

The bitrate is not very high and this sometimes also occurs when jumping between timecodes - usually these dropouts after jump settle down, but it's less likely when jumping to very late chapters in the movie.

Any idea what could be the problem and how to get rid of it?

Some of the sound issues have been addressed in a later version 1.2.25.
This was not released in public as only had some of the functionality on
board for testing purposes. Another update including the sound fixes will
follow in 2-3 weeks...

Notice that it's always important to add info on how the playback is done.
Network streaming, USB HDD or internal HDD...
