Okay, some more info what doesn't work (still):

- Quicktime .mov encoded with video codec svq3 is not supported (just download one ha trailer from Gametrailers.com)

-MP3 VBR ff and rw does not work

-MKV with DTS (most work as stated by usul, e.g. Underworld DTS 720p Bluray rip) but on Matrix the sound is dropping out

Quick question: how do I make a sample of a mkv movie that does not work to upload it?

So overall, a step in the right direction but a small one. (well, it's 1.2.23 so I guess that's okay)

I dl the program called "mkvtoolnix" and once installed, goto the program called "mkvmerge gui"

With this program load you MKV file and goto the "Global tab"
-select enable splitting
-"after this size" option, put in 50M (I beleive that is the max size you can UL for test files)
-"max number of files" option put in what you want (normally you leave this empty, but since you only want a few files to test from, use this)

There are other options for splitting aswell, have fun..

well i have been testing , have about 100 mkv's 720P and 1080P.
From thouse 100 9 dont play , and it doesnt mather from my server or internal disk its the same , heavy blocking not watchable .
Otherwise everything plays nice .
So far im very happy with my new toy
It replaced my htpc .

my mistake, I mean stereo sound output (analog)
Before 1.2.23 I was able to play avi's with low bitrate audio stream (and some DVDs) using DVI output setting to carry video over HDMI cable and independently audio was carried over stereo cables to my TV set (has audio input)
Now with current FW when DVI is selected as my default video output there is no audio signal on TViX stereo output therefore that workaround does not work anymore. There is additional setting in AV setup screen which I dont know the purpose of, ie HDMI manual/auto sound? -(from the top of my head so the wording might be inaccurate)

BTW -rolled back to 1.0.43, DVICo PLEASE FIX HDMI AUDIO PROBLEM!!!! forget about mkv and other stuff, fix the basics first

I have audio through analog connections all the time.
If one of your AVIs doesn't produce sound then it is a bug probably.
Cut a small example of it and upload to MPC FTP.
Dvico guys will look into this problem.

Re-confirmed. Also, Goto don't work, and Chapter forward just skips to DVD Menu, making it really annoying if the crash occured, say, an hour into a movie, and you have to manually Fast forward...
