Default convert .vob files. how ? software ? / Kiss manual

Hi

I feel certain that my questions have been answered elsewhere, but cant find it right now.
After ftp from kiss to pc ( I use FlashFXP)how do you convert ( shrink) those big .vob files ? and what about the idx file ?
Any good freeware or shareware programs ?
This is kind of a standard thing to do when you want to burn your recorded tv programs to a dvd. So maybe there is a step by step guide somewhere ?
Maybe it says in the Kiss manual but I cant download it ? why ?

Thanks

Correction.

I can download the manual but I need a password.

Which password is that ?

And is the manual outdated or is it still worth opening ?

By the way : That manual looks really nice. Great job Hi-jack !

i found a section where you can cut the .vob file into smaller pieces. Arent there better ways ? Like converting to divx or something ?

Thanks

This problem (convert VOB to Divx/Xvid-Avi) has several solutions, each one has it's pros and cons.

To me the best is still VirtualDubMod and associated filters-codecs.

Yes, it takes some effort to learn how to, but with a little search on the net you'll find info and guides, you'll love it.

^_^
