No it isnt utorrent or azareus so it wont be any good for private trackers. This is why I would have preferred a newsgroup client.

There is no usenetclient in the PH (yet!) it is requested and PH is looking into it.
I also would prefer a newsclient, but if they dont install it maybe we can port it ourselves?
The problem with releases from Usenet is the parring and the rarring that could take some serious processing power, so we have to see if the PH is quick enough to do this.

Let's wait and see.

A lot of torrents need unraring so its pairing that will be the one I suppose.

I'm hopeful, particularly as there does seem such a good community looking forward to developing the capabilities of the unit. So if Sysbas/PH dont come up with one there's still a chance.

There are no stupid questions only stupid answers.

Private tracker as opposed to public trackers. Basically a torrent site where membership is via invite only is private and therefore has a private tracker. Open sites are known as public trackers. Private trackers have generally better speeds and safer content. You are not going to post rubbish on a site youve struggled to get into and value the speeds.

On the newsgroups front it would be good to get the ability to play from rar files that is being looked into. Once you have that its down to pairing apart from being able to enter username/passwords for your newsgroup server.

Torrents feature is a nice one, but review clearly shows it's not complete and almost unusable. I was using AirLive external HDD storage with Torrents downloads which had exactly the same functionality as PCH A100 has (based on review description), and it was a pure pain. Apparently, they are using some sort of open source linux client to do the job, and it's not good. And, of course, there's problem with private trackers as mentioned above.

in my opinion id like my media player to do just that play my media.

id like to keep any torrents/nas/newsgroups/making toast activities away from my media player.

Making the media player bug free with an awesome UI and play everything i throw at is all i want

Because i have a PC and so will everyone else who uses a media player.
if you want a good torrent client / ng access etc then make a small pc and hook that up to ur TV.
