maybe your harddisc consumes too much energy while in use? This could completly corrupt the filesystem.

sorry made an mistake. thought you modded it.
But as far as you described something went wrong with the filesystem, maybe a shipping damage? What fw do you use?

any other details you can provide?

Hey lifeisfun...

If you flash the firmware, does it ask for initial setup for the hdd?
Does it complete the setup?
Also, the first movie, copy it from the dvd so the folder is created (hdd/video)

Hope something just went wrong and there's nothing broken in the player.
You might have to sent it back if it's the player.

(To initialise the player, use KiSS firmware and not modd firmware)
Just in case.

Regards.

When I got it I loaded the latest KISS FW
Than changed to latest ET FW
Created folders using FTP and with lots of disconnects uploaded about 30-35 movies.
I'm like to avoid formating the HD
If I use FTP to create new folder I get message:
550 Can't create directory: Read-only file system

There is a problem with the KiSS firmware for copyong to disk that also will be fixed in next release. (I tested this and it works fine now in the Beta 2.7.8 DP-50. There was still a little issue on loosing some bits but i've been told that's fixed too...

If the files are copied corrupt, you have to recopy them anyway...
I hope it won't happen again but hope is all we can offer until the next release is out...
