Default Updating F/W with driver for 54mbps manually

Hi Guys

I have been using the ZyAir 802.11b card supplied with my DP-1500 but have had some bandwidth issues, so got a hold of a friends Belkin 802.11g card. Obviously the unit doesnt support this card (will it support 11g at all?) Was wondering if its possible to update the firmware, supplying a driver for this card manually? What language is used to write the firmware itself, if any?

Any input would be great. If I can get this to work i'll happily become a paying member of the forum.

Probably it can be done if you can get ucLinux drivers for your card , however , the "g" cards just does not fit (phisicly) in DP-15xx

Just kidding.
You should become member if you want it yourself.
We still deliver the full service of support to people that don't want it.

I'm already mailing the developers and see if they can do anything about this

Membership is right here but only do it if you like it yourself...

Sorry for this sad true but there is only little chance to make this card working with KiSS player. There are at least 3 good reasons for this:

1. This card is not supported under Linux - there is no native driver for this OS because maker of chip used in this card (Broadcom) does not publish chip specs. So direct porting of driver is not an option.

2. This card can work in Linux but only on normal x86 PC since it needs ndiswrapper (for regular windows drivers) and ndiswrapper relies on x86 architecture.

3. Last but not least we both (ET and me) don't have DP-150x models so we have no chance to test something in such environment. We have DP-500 and Dp-508 but thse models don't have PCMCIA slot to put Wi-Fi card into.

When we take all 3 arguments it makes unpossible for ET or me to make this happen. Sorry

doesnt sound too promising for my chances!

Does the 15xx support any 11g pcmcia cards? The 11b just isnt cutting it, the picture keeps jumping and stalling when watching divx (only on some films though...dont know if its the higher bitrate or what)

Cheers.
