Default What about the HDMI cable?

What about the HDMI cable?

Do we need a gold cable (like the ones of profigold)? Do we gain from using these cables or not?
Is there visible difference from using a normal cable to a cable with gold finishing?

No. It is an Digital transfer. You wont see any difference.

I would like to mention that the supplied HDMI cable is to large/bulky to fit a Sony 40U2000 TV.

Supplied cable? I was under the impression that the PopcornHour comes without an HDMI cable - I was just about to buy one.

Can someone confirm whether it comes with one or not? I don't want to have to spend extra f I don't need to but I'd also like to be able to use it as soon as it arrives!

The most important thing for HDMI cable if you are using very long runs (10+ meters) is to have proper termination impedance and shielding on the cable.

This way when running very high resolutions (near max bandwidth) you will not get digital pixel errors and complete loss of sync.

I've experienced both on my 15meter HDMI cable when using an inferior quality cable. A better cable removed all of these issues.

The problems (if any) are also dependent on source signal driving quality and receiver input chip quality.

I was surprised by the cable that was in the box.
It looks better than no name HDMI cables i have bought in shops.
The connectors are quite thick indeed, so i can imagine it might not fit every device. The calbe is quite long ~ 150 cm

Have no idea what the quality is using it, its much to long for me.
