Received a new CS505 this week, pre-installed 2.0.1 firmware. Unpacked it, read the manual, started using it yesterday. Everything worked fine, was able to see a DVD via the DVD player. Listen to some internet radio. No problems at all. During the night the CS505 was powered on, but in standby mode.

Today I push the standby button on the remote, the LED on the CS505 turns from red to green, but nothing happens. No 'Loading' message. No video output. Tried pushing the on/off button, but same result: nothing happens.

I already created a ticket at the Ziova helpdesk but maybe someone here has an idea what is going wrong?

Seems broken to me but what you can try is place the FLASH recovery on a USB disk and try boot the player with that and upgrade the it. The procedure is on the Ziova web site in "My Ziova" after you registered the player.

Tried it this morning. Downloaded recovery image, created boot usb stick, plugged it in and powered on the CS505: nothing.

The problem I am facing now is: request a new CS505 from the vendor (divxplayer.nl) or just ask a refund.

Got an email from Ziova a few days later:

If you are unable to do a firmware recovery on your player you will need to contact your place of purchase and set up a warranty repair.

Unfortunately divxplayer.nl doesn't have any CS-505 on stock, so they asked me to send it to the distributor directly. So now I'm looking into how much this will cost me. Alot of trouble for a device which has worked exactly one day...

I had the same after the upgrade and can only speak out of my own experience
The Device has to be turned off completely and it takes a while till he is ready
After 2/3 times it worked out for me and I am very satisfied with the device
Contact the distributor :P
