Default Stacked Thecus

Hmmm, sounds good. Actually it is 25TB (each Thecus 5200Pro allows 5 drives). The question is if RAID is allowed across devices or it just provides a logical addressing of volumes. If across devices would be concerned at the throughput and raid rebuild. My experience of extending a 4x1TB Disk RAID5 to a 5x1TB Disk RAID 5 was that it took over 36 hours for RAID migration. There comes a balance on useability where having multiple units may be more maintable.

I would think it is possible to create sstand alone raid's on each and then somehow gather the RAID5 volu;es as JBOD on top towards network devices that see the full space as a single volume...

I have no idea but if Thecus is willing to sne dus 6 devices loaded with 5 TB drives each, we'd be "more than happy" to tests this out

Honestly I feel like I made the right choice when I got the n5200pro : never had a problem so far and going from RAID 1 with 2 drives to RAID 5 with 3 was painless (even though it took over 24 hours to do it).

I'm looking forward to try out both IPCam and stacking, but it will be a while before I resort to the stacking feature.
