We could try if you would explain the problem a bit more...
How is the TViX connected? What are the network settings on TViX?

sorry to be short,
ok when i switch my player on and go into settings then goto network and then to tvix info it doesnt show ip address ,subnet mask or DNS it just the mac numbers.

The tvix is on default Network wired (which i want) , the wired ip setting is on DHCP and the network Disk1 is set to Normal(NFS).
It also shows user name and password for ftp reasons.

All i want to do is get the Tvix to pick up my computer so i can stream over HD content but its becoming a real pain in the A**E.

Seems I have exactly the same problem with my 6500. Box set to DHCP, my router is acting as a DHCP server and works fine with my Squeezebox. But with the 6500, whatever I try (new firmware, fixed ip, DHCP), I cannot get the thing to see my PC disks.

Mimic, did you get it to work?

False alarm. I tried using another network cable and this works. Normally this would be the first thing to check but strangely enough my Squeezebox does work with the old network cable and the TVIX does not. I'm not a networking expert but this should not depend on the type of device should it. Either it works or it doesn't. Anyway, I can now really start testing the device!
