Default Hi-Jack's Guide: MAP TViX HDD to PC! Method 1

UPDATE: TViX M-6500A has a SAMBA server on board
You can use tvixhd1 as user and password to connect.
Use the guides only for older products with FTP on board!

ONLY for Windows 2000 and XP.
For an alternate version for Windows 2000/XP and Vista:

We decided, after numerous messages posted on the forums, to create a guide on how you can map the internal TViX HDD as a drive letter on your Windows PC. Not sure in how far this is a benefit over using FTP but it makes administration easier the least using the TViX as a drive on PC instead of FTP software. No changes in performance which remains around 5 MB/Sec.

Any comments, feedback, appreciation, better ideas / alternatives and such can be posted in this thread.

Enjoy
Hi-Jack

Does this only work with the 6500 or older models as well?

Seems as it is Vista related where the app does not work (not compatible)
If i'm not mistaking, VISTA has a tool for this called WebDAV.

Check google for Vista solutions...

Default Explorer. exe crash when "connect"

Hello,

Thanks a lot for the tip. It is working perfectly on my Vaio laptop (With WIn XP Pro) but when I installed following the same procedure on e desktop running Windows XP Family Edition, Explorer.exe crashes (sometimes serious Windows crash) when I click on "Connect". I can see the drive in the drives list but again crash when I double-click on it.

Thanks for helping. Yours,

NOCPMNO
