No audio with digital setting
Hello,
finally I got TVix 6500, I'm very happy, but got soon a problem....
If I set audio @ digital, I can't hear any sound on HDMI, in this case optical works great. If I set to ANALOG(PCM) it works also on HDMI!
Why??

Have you enabled HDMI Audio in the setup menu?

I have exact same problem. Specifically, if I set all the audio settings to "Digital", and Video Out to "HDMI", and HDMI Audio n, I get audio only if I play divx files that have mp3 audio. Anything that is AC3 there is no sound.
However, if I set the main audio setting to "Analog/PCM" (and leave HDMI Audio:On), I get sound on all media files.

Same issue as Blazer0x.
Audio: "Digital" - Video Out: "HDMI" - HDMI Audio n
No audio output on HDMI with AC3 movie (I don't try MP3), however, whit above configuration I got sound using optical.
My noob question is: does Analog(PCM) support 5.1 channels??

I believe so, based purely upon the sounds I heard while watching a few movies. The sound was definitely coming out in 5.1. So we have a workaround of sorts, even if it doesn't make any sense

Oke Blazer0x,
this evening I'll try following AC3 5.1 test file:
http://www.lynnepublishing.com/surro...round_test.ac3
Then, if it's all ok, I'll definitely switch Audio to Analog(PCM).
However I think Optical audio will ever handles 5.1 audio, and Audio setting on Tvix is only related to HDMI.

I have a problem where WMA Pro (9, 10 VBR) audio from WMV movies will not pay. WMA playback is set to digital. maybe I should change it to analog? Or maybe i should upgrade to the 33 firmware! Im on 22. I am using a digital optical connection to my receiver.

Snow you are correct that to play WMA Pro audio you need to set to Analog to get sound. Also in setup you need to chang wma to analog and it plays fine but only in stereo of course. The other problem is once you've done that you can't get your digital outputs to work again. I assume you have to re-flash firmware to get to it work again. Anyone have a better solution ?? I'd consider this a bug that could be fixed with Firmare upgrades.

If you're using an optical connection to your receiver then, yes, WMA needs to be set to analog. The TViX will then convert WMA to 2ch stereo and then you'll get regular PCM sent out the optical connection.
If you still don't get any sound then maybe your WMA version isn't supported yet. Actually, there's a feature request for WMA Pro support.
