I use an xbox as a media server....works well, but the fan is a bit loud and I need another media device for another room. I like the 510...seems good. But I have a couple of questions:


1. Is there a fan on the 510?

2. The xbox is nice because you can rename your shares. Can the 510 store shares with any name you like? I have a 4 drive NAS server...shortcuts to specific shares save time. Can I do this with the 510 or do you need to do full browsing each time?

I have a 505, a 510 with a DVD drive.

1. There is no fan.

2. In firmware 2.x you can create favorites to take you to directories on your NAS under shares. I have two set to avoid navigating the whole directory structure each time.
