bullka just read dvico statement, it's all in there!

We understand that this is 100% our fault and DViCO will bear two way shipping charges and costs for repair.
Before we ask the customers to send their units, all the related parts should be sent to the temporary AS centre in Europe and this AS process can only begin after 4 weeks.
To fix all the above issues, the user needs to send his unit to a temporary AS center in Europe(and US).
And why would there be any taxes? You already paid for it

I think the use of an exteral power supply would be a better solution than a thin heat sink. It would remove considerable heat from the box and allow more room to put a larger more efficient heat sink. This would also allow more air flow.

What about people like me that purchase their units abroad but live in other countries? Will DIVICo pay for the costly shipping cost from Brazil to US and return? Will it pay the expected USD 250-USD300 import tax when the unit return? Questions remain!

@ edu: Did you try asking Dvico about this ? Seems more logical than asking here really...

I only hope that having made this commitment more than a lucky few get the benefit before the cost drives Dvico into liquidation!

This is welcome news and it certainly reads like they are taking these issues very seriously. I'm particularly impressed with their offer of free two way shipping. Now that is customer service!

I think action such as this will do far more to improve customer loyalty and commitment and allow the company to turn the corner towards reaching a larger audience. With these changes and continued firmware enhancement this is going to be an exceptional product

Hi Folks

I'm not sure what to do. I have bougt my 6500a by a german distributor, until now i have no problems with the unit, except the clock problem.
I fear the worst, that one day i have the "USB Always on problem", or my unit burns, because of heat problem (i'have a Samsung drive inside).

Is it worth to send it back to the distributor with a hint to the dvico Statement, and claim him to resolve the hardware design errors, or should i wait until i have a problem.

How do you guys deal with this problem.

another question is, when i send it in, must i backup the hardisk bevor i send it away, or should i remove the hardisk by my self.

thanks for some good adivces
peter
