Hello,

Is it possible streaming video with VLC http://www.videolan.org and kissdx ?
My idea is to have the equivalent of the freebox and the homeplayer (freeplayer) and see all video (Divx6,....) with the Kiss DP-500.

I doubt that VLC supports the KiSS PC-Link protocol, which is all kissdx knows. So probably not.

So do i have : freebox & freeplayer on mac + kiss558 & kissdx

The architecture of freebox and freeplayer is that both side has VLC running (the server and the client) due to the fact the company FREE has one of the VLC opensource project developper in their office team.

Basically the freebox call an http:8080 call to the freeplayer that response on VLC protocol which media is available. and once choice is done, finallly the freeplayer send on UDP the movie stream.

Unfortunately, see kissdx manual, protocol page, the Kiss player does not use the same port, UDP and protocol ...

the good way will be to host on Kiss Player the vlc server release. (chg firmware, or cross compile it ... and see if hardware ressource is enough... An actual big deal to manage ...)
