Pitifully attempting to make my Istar integrate with my multi-room and multi-source configuration..

My DVD player and DirectTV PVR will both output audio (2 channel for multi-room) over HDMI and digital (multi-channel for the home theatre) at the same time.

I can't figure out what combination of settings I need on the istar to do the same thing.

Thanks for any help. My frustration with HDMI is beyond words.

Probably the player does not output over two channels at the same time. If it would work, you'd have sound by simply connecting the device. Also notice that there is a setting in the setup (Analog or Digital) and while using analog and digital over your two outputs, this setting would conflict as well.

Possibly it might work if selecting "digital" or "Analogue" for both outputs.
