I think that there is some basic functions missing in the DP-558, these functions is as follows:

1. Real timeshifting, it shall also be possible to start seeing a timer programmed recording before it is finish recording.

2. To see a DVD, or something on the HD (DivX, picture and other stuff) while recording.

3. To timer Record from a satellite receiver and other external devices.

This is my present list for Kiss this Christmas Is it too much to ask for? Is it realistic to hope that Kiss will put these features in DP-558?

For point 2 you've got to wait for Santa.

Dont expect this kind of present from Kiss, they cant give you the impossible.

I'd like to see the name of the TV show in de filename.vob when I record something with the EPG guide, for example:

"[Channel] - [TV-Show-Name] - [Date/Time].vob"

or something like that. Maybe the possibility to define the order of
[Channel]
[TV-Show-Name]
[Date/Time]

So you can sort on channel, or show, or date, etc, etc..

No I only have to gues what was on TV last week or even month at that time (and I still haven watched it).

Yes, it's possible to change filenames with ftp later on, but it would ben nice to have this as a feature.

Show namne should defenetly be in the filenamne.
I would like to have it in this order:

[TV-Show-Name] - [Date].vob

It seems like a piece of cake for Kiss to add this feature.

What country are you in? Most countries have at least 7 days of data. There are some exceptions though such as Spain (2-3 days) and Belgium (6 days).

I'm in Sweden.

How do I change day? All I can find is "Whats on - tomorrow"
I haven't seen any way to flip between days, but i can be wrong.

In myhtpc and other EPG programs there are about seven days of
data for Sweden.

I know I'm asking a lot, but it would be nice if the player could download and save the EPG data on the harddrive so you didn't need to download it everytime you wanted to access the EPG.
Then you could set a time each day/night when the player would download the data.
"Whats on now" (LIST - ENTER) would be much faster this way.

All what has been said here is already listed in our reviews except the EPG 2
days as it counts only for a very few countries. All the rest is listed in our
report to KiSS and our review for which we expect a KiSS statement at the
beginning of next week after we sent our report. (More specific the names
of the recorded files, usage of DVD during recordings and a long list of
other items)

KiSS did provide info that it will continue working on firmware for another
while for DP-558 and the other players so most of the functions we consider
High Priority should become available in a short time (max 1 month).
