Default How stable are kiss products in general?

Hi,

I have had a DP-558 a week now and I quite like the product and all its features despite some of its flaws. But I am also disappointed of the stability of the product. I would have thought that when you buy a product like this it would have been trough all stages of beta testing and most of the stability bugs were gone. Like you expect when you buy a Sony, Pioneer and other known brands. But this is my first kiss product so I don?t know much of kiss?s reputation and other products ranges. So how stable is other kiss products and do you think that DP-558 will ever get stable? By stable I mean that I can trust that it will record when I want and not frees up for some unknown reason.

Best regards
Bosse

Well KiSS product it rather unstable ...
They are good but this is the one of their bigges problems - freezes and other things that usualy start to work correctly after complete powerdown.

But if you look on KiSS devices not as hardware but as software they are OK.
Not to mention that KiSS slowly , in pain but fixes them one by one in a time.

I have DP-500 more then 2 years now , and my God what a bad shape it was with first firmwares ...
Now it's more or less OK , the only time I have to reboot it now to fix functionality is after playing MP3s by network - if you put it in standby after that and then try to wake - menu is gone (fw 2.8. .

Also KiSS known to create "funny" situalions - more then once they work hard on firmware , tested it for a long time and then make some last minute fix that brake everything and release with it without testing firs.
