SD DVD ISOs from Panasonic DVD-Recorder
Hello,
I have problems with SD DVD ISOs from my Panasonic DVD-Recorder DMR-E85.
Itīs not possible to play the ISOīs (or VOBīs) on the M-6500A (Firmware 1.2.52 and HDMI). Stutter, sound goes off after a few seconds.
ISOīs from other DVDīs plays fine!
There are problems on other DVD-players (YAMAHA) with these DVDīs from the Panasonic. But without problems played on any computer!!
So it must be a codec problem. Can somebody tell about his experiences with DVDīs from Panasonic DVD-Recorders.
Help would be appreciated!

Computer is different. Likely Panasonic uses it's own header information that
players struggle with to interpret. Send a sample off to DviCo and they might
be able to fix it...

I wouldn't hold my breath, that must come way down on their list since it seems to be a non-standard ISO. Might be better trying to rip your ISOs with a program and get them fixed for playback.

I had a similar problem when using DVD Decrypter to rip the ISO to my Rapsody N35.
When I ripped the same DVD using DVD Shrink it worked fine.
Dont know why though.

Today I found a difference between the ISO files an the VOB files.
I changed the settings from DVD autostart to off and was able to play the DVD from the beginning (with Sound).
The Panasonic burned the DVD with autostart feature for the first track. So now Iīm not able to select a track in the menue.
Probably I should create a new ISO file from the original DVD and not from the VOB files like before.

I got a answer from DViCo:
Hello Sven,
I regret to say that since the other player does not support this dvd, it must be the title problem not the TVIX. Unlike PC, TVIX is more close to regular DVD. I regret to say that I don't think we can solve this problem.
Regards,
Eric
So no hope for me. They canīt fix the problem.
I found out, that the files from the Panasonic DMR-E85 have timebase-errors!!
These errors cause the TViX to stutter.
After that I corrected the files with "MPEG Streamclip 1.9.2" on my mac.
But now I have mpeg-files. They play well but you canīt go back in the files.
Only the ISO files have this feature!

Not only ISO files have this feature, most files have it except some MPEG. What these players do is create an index based on iFrames and indexes of the movie and this seems missing from your files for which the player cannot create such virtual index to activate the FF/RW operations...
For the ISO files, the content I assume is DVD.
Create a new and proper index using IFOEDIT or similar tools to create a proper IFO file... It repairs erroneous files to a limited extend...
