Default Still Cannot Delete from from Internal HDD

Why is it that some files are easily deleted from the nmt HDD and some files are just not possible? Access denied. Only option is a full reformat. I hate it.

I hate seeing jumping to conclusions...
Files copied by SMB or FTP leave different permissions behind. Check which
files are of concern and how you copied these files over... then start tracing
what the source of the issue might be...

Lancito, are you able to connect the HDX to a PC. I found that when I browsed the drive using Ubuntu Linux, some files did have different permissions as Hi-Jack states. I was easily able to change these permissions, or delete files diectly from within Linux.

Since I use Ubuntu and a USB connection to copy files to the HDD, this is not a problem for me, and the transfer rate is quite good (around 30MB/sec). How do you copy files?

Cheers, Beastie.

Thanks Beastie and Hi Jack, I copy files via FTP through Mac OSX. I noticed that broken files leave directories that are not allowed to be deleted. I get a prompt access denied.

I saw in one thread that files even transfered via FTC can easily be deleted under SMB. IL try it one of these days if it works.

Cheers.
