I think all 3 times I'm the source
I can not elaborate on this as it is information gathered in the beta FW... The NDA is gone but still we can not talk about the contents of the tests sorry...
maybe you can convince werner to talk about this...

I use a NetGear GS116 ProSafe switch and for the record, there is no selection
for Half or Full duplex on media players... Any more brilliant guesses lol Setting this on a switch requires a managed switched and mine happens to be none of those...
Need more testers so we will get some more different setups once these players spread to see where the issues may relate to...

Sorry but this is totaly wrong. Within a professional business network environment using managed switches you have the possibility to set these modes. But as Hi-Jack already stated he neither does have a managed switch nor has the bd prime a static mode. So this test is not pssible.

Correct there are managed switches who allow the port to be set to a half duplex rate... I'll do this test, but the test will only prove the Ethernet port is NOT to Gbit specs...

This is very good switch (from unmanaged switches of course) , the "plastic" ones ffrom NetGear are problematic with some network cards but "metalic blue" are rock solid.

I don't expect it is the switch either but we'll see if the problem persists once
more people have them. They is hardly info available to come to a conclusion
about the issue or to justify concentration on this issue by HDI if it only
happens to me...

I cant seem to setup a network share through SMB with Vista. I get this error "Cannot access network folder"
I filled in my ipaddress of the Prime in home/menu/new network folder. And does it matter what name and folder i give it?
I want to stream directly from my PC to the Prime without a NAS.
I have it connected like this Gigabit Router ---> Prime / PC
What else do I have to do?

Off course it matters...
You should enter the IP of your PC and not the BD Prime...
Folder name does not matter
The Share Name should be the shared folder name...
Makes sure your vista firewall settings allow the PC to share and that the permissions on this share are set properly to allow guest or everyone access (unless you did configure a user and password)
