Dune region free Patch (081226_1216)
In the spirit of honesty where we believe as long as we can purchase foreign
DVD's and Blu-ray and import these, we should be allowed to play them on our
players as well and not be locked by decision of other companies who decided
to region lock your devices...
In such spirit, we release publicly a pacth that will allow your player to become
DVD Region Free and on top offers a region selection fro Blu-Ray... Here's
what you do with this patch (easy):
- This patch is only for firmware version "081226_1216". (current version)
- Copy the file to USB stick or external HDD.
- Connect your USB or HDD to the player
- Select the file from the browser and press "Enter" button.
- Eventually, "Success" should be shown on the screen.
- After that, it becomes possible to switch regions: on
the main screen: press "Mute" button 4 times and then
1 or 2 or 3 for Blu-ray region selection.
-You can use the current patch to select DVD region as well... Press mute 3X and enter the 01 / 02 / 03 etc... depending on the region you want. Initially this patch does not change region for DVD, only offers selection of it...
As always, use at your own risk.
We will issue updates whenever updates apply to new firmware versions
undoing this patch however know this is not a standard service and should
be considered as extra option from the community.

Thanks Hi-Jack
Nice to get this sorted before my player even arrives.
Does this also take care of the bd-rom drive ?

Read the message again...
DVD is region free auto and BD Region can be selected by pressing 4 X MUTE
and selecting 1 - 2 - 3 (for A B C Blu-ray region). Downside is, this will not be a
permanent fix as every update will undo this considering it is a path on top of
the FW... but we will provide such patch again every time it is necessary...
Like i said: in the spirit of honesty...

You can't see it anywhere... You can change it by pressing MUTE 4 X followed by 1 - 2 - 3 (A - B - C)

So for DVD and BD backups you have to guess which region they are?

What are you talking about?
DVD is standard region free after using this patch so there is no region set.
For Blu-ray you set the player to whatever region you need at the time of playing the disk (A - B or C). Default, your region is whatever applies to your country...
Not a lot of guessing to there...
