Default DP-558 progressive scan on Infocus X1

I have a DP558 and an Infocus X1 projector. I made a component to VGA adapter to connect the player with the component output to the VGA input of the projector wit a 15m (approx 50 ft) VGA cable.
Everything seems to work fine, except for the fact that (fast) moving objects on the screen show horizontal lines. As long as the objects do not move or move slowly the picture is perfect!
Does anyone recognise this phenomena?
Could this have something to do with the way progressive scan is applied in the DP-558, the cable length, the adaptor, limitations of the X1?

When I connect through 15 meters S-video cable, the picutre is OK and I do not get these horizontal lines, but it's a bit blur. This could have to do with the quality of the cable.

Is it complicated to get the DP-558 very close to the projector, use a short connection cable, and have immediate answer, if it is cable length or quality problem?

Is the videosource interlaced? Maybe check the projector if you have a deinterlace function.

Interlaced is the method how TV shows the picture on the screen. It means that only half the screen is refreshed one time, and the next time the other half.

What is the impedance of the used cable? and the bandwith? when the bandwith is too low, you can get crappy picture at high movement.

Component to VGA? ? can you tell me how you did that?
or do you mean RGB --> VGA?

Check the following link.

It really works.

I will check whether it's the cable or not with a short VGA cable.

Langman:

Of course it's not true VGA. My projector accepts a component signal via it's VGA input.

Problem seems to be inside the DP-558. DVD's play very well, almost without the horizontal lines. The image from the tuner displays the horizontal lines effect much more.

To be continued...

I Think you have problems with the fact that television is Interlaced.

are using progressive scan?
If you are,
try to switch to a resolution with a p at the end.
like 480p, 1080p

The p means that the signal is "Progressive", the i means it is "Interlaced"

// Weird, it's called "Progressive scan" and you still can have Interlaced signals
