Default To much audio

Hi there

I guess i posted this question in the wrong forum (The kiss players forum)... I'll try this one instead...

I bought a dp500 yesterday.... wow that is a neat peace of hardware... I have one problem though. I have nearly 40gb of music on my computer, and when i share all of it using pc-link, the dp500 doesn't show anything. When i cut down in the amount of music, it works fine.

Is there a limit to the amount or the number of files and is there a way to work around the problem?

I have upgraded to the newest firmware and pc-link versions.

Would it help to make a 500-508 mod and copy the files to the dp-50[8] harddrive?

Best regards and a very happy newyear.

Hi Kaj,

I'm not aware of a limit in the lists.
I surely ask KiSS about this soon so we have an idea...

Might also want to check the FAQ at KiSS-Technology.com.

You might want to try creating seperate folders with a max of files that works fine...

To be continued...!

Default Re. Too much audio

Hi again
All my music is placed in diferent folders, firstletter\artist\album and so on. I have now tried a couple of things:
I have made a little housekeeping in my music collection. I removed songs that existed twice (Bad thing with low HD prices... It doesn't matter if things is redundant...)
I have removed all desktop.ini and other stuff that wasn't directly related to the music.
I have renamed some of the very long filenames to shorter ones.....

And it all seems to help a little.

Another thing i discovered was that the PC running EZ-Link was getting tired of too much work. It's a 600Mhz/256 Mb PIII running WIN 2K server, mailserver, webserver, fileserver, and with EZ-link also streaming server. So i have upgraded the server, but i still have to test if it makes things work better.

Thanks for all your sugestions and tips.

Best regards Kaj
