Default The ioBox.

I thought i would pop in and mention that this NMT player has given us at digitalera the least amount of trouble we have sold a lot and havnt had 1 back (that i know of)

Good news for anyone looking at getting one but worried about build quality.

I'll second digitalera's post. I have not had a single ioBox-100HD returned due to hardware failure. I have had a few returned due to DTS issues. Also a couple returned because of streaming problems (now fixed with recent firmware updates).

The vast majority of my ioBox-100HD owners are very happy with their player.

What kind of DTS issues? I get intermittent audio muting for a split second once in a while during playback of mkv files. If I rewind or play the movie again, the audio muting occurs elsewhere so it can't be the video file. Any known work around for this kind of problem? My only recourse now is to extract DTS track, convert to AC3 and remux the mkv file. Any ideas?

The ioBox-100HD can not currently downmix DTS to 2 channels. It has to "pass-through" the DTS signal to a receiver to be decoded. I've had a few returns from customers who have learned this after receiving their player.

I was very aware of the unsupported DTS downmix to 2 channel stereo when I bought my ioBox HD100. I use a DTS/DD capable receiver for sound so it was not an issue for me. I understand that Dragon Tech is working on the DTS downmix feature for the next firmware release.

My issue and question is the intermittent muting for a split second of movies with DTS audio tracks and on DTS sound files. Since it is a pass-through, is it the files' fault? Will a remux solve the problem? Is there a remedy other than conversion to AC3? I personally think it is not a file problem as the split second muting occurs randomly. I can play the same file over and over again and muting will be at different sections. Please note that this problem does not occur on all my movie files with DTS audio track making it more difficult to narrow down the problem.

Can you specify then which output do you use. Optical or coaxial? Me personally I've never experienced anything like this on any DTS track. And that are most of the files I play.

And couldn't be more happy then I am with my IoBox HD100
Fully agree with the aboce statements about this great unit.

I use Optical. I tried remuxing but same problem on the files concerned. Not all of my mkv with DTS files have this problem. Converting the DTS to AC3 solved the problem. Must the file or my amp. Time to get an amp with Coax Digital input.

Sounds reasonable. I use coaxial only and no problem whatsoever with DTS tracks of any kind. Including also the playing of .M2TS Blu-ray files with DTS HD tracks - the DTS-core signal is passed through coaxial output and the receiver plays it flawlessly.
