Default Audio dropouts on mkv files with DTS audio tracks

I am getting tired of having to extract DTS audio tracks from my mkv video files to fix them up with delaycut or convert them to AC3 with EAC3toGUI and remux them again for a hopefully flawless playback. Is this a hardware issue that is heat related or is it a firmware issue? Is Transport Stream a better container for videos with DTS tracks? Anyone out there with a better solution?

Update - a simple remux with the latest version of mkvmerge seem to have solved some of the problem. This is definitely a case of mkv demux issue with the current firmware.

Hi,

only for your info, next firmware, which will get released on Monday for A-110 and after that soon for our Oems, will have an fix for such bad encoded movies, currently we don't know if it will fix all issues, but it will be definitely improved.

Regards,
Werner

Just a follow up question. Can these so called badly encoded movies be identified by the muxer version or versions that they used? I suppose this is an MKVmerge issue with nmt and having to play them first to find out if it will require fixing puts a damper on the whole movie watching experience. Many nmt users got their boxes mainly for the mkv support.

you dont need to identify them anymore when the fix is here, we only found out that it most of the time happen from some well known groups, but it doesnt seem to be an muxer version problem.
It seems that they use an wrong timecode which an PC Software player can tolerate on playback.

I suppose it will take while before DTC issues another firmware upgrade that incorporates this DTS fix. When I emailed them about it, the reply seems to be confused with DTS fix and DTS downmix. So it was the usual sometime in Q3 timeline response. DTC appears to be ahead of the pack with 2TB support.
