With all the fuss about KiSS lately, we got behind on some news, so here's where we cath up a little. It doesn't seem to end lately that brands are careless about maintaining relationships and offering coorect details about product features, shipments and firmware, almost as if they don't know any better. MPC partner RHISC has removed the MViX 760 from their products, following all other MViX products to be replaced with a more reliable partner, TViX (Dvico) who previously also has been lifted as MPC Company and Brand of the year? Statement from RHISC CEO Ronald was clear. "Sadly, we have to inform you on our decision to end any and all cooperation with Unicorn Information System Ltd effective immediately. This weekend, we have come to a strong dissagreement on delivery of the MX-760HD cases which result in us no longer trusting or believing in Unicorn Information System Ltd (MViX Multimedia Centers)." This means, no more Home Base for MViX in the Netherlands. You're better of with TViX anyway. Click on "Read More" for more small stories on KiSS, Snazio* and more...
So short and yet so powerfull message i read over at
CDFreaks. It stated Universal get's a cut from Mircrosoft Zune Sales and tries to pull thesame shit on iPod as well. The best detail was in the conlcusion however, where the author stated: Seriously these companies are making money hand over fist, why the hell should they be getting a cut of hardware sales? This would be as bad as Shell or Texaco saying that they have to get a cut out of every car that is sold. When is this madness going to end? I agree totally with that statement and can answer his question about when this madness is going to stop. "The day consumers stop buying that crap". Another nice article was listed showing
Microsoft Zune to fail far below any expectation.
Snazio*, where too much silence is coming from in the last months, has been working on a new NAS solutions. Details are unknown to date but will come soon. Further, a new firmware with 1080p support will be released for Beta testing by MPC today. This will get our Beta team out of undeployment status and news will be released by our beta team leader Sodium (hopefully

).
KiSS-Technology and
MPC remain on a different level concerning support. No real progress has been made yet but is expected to start showing results within the next 48 hours while
Linksys legal department is looking into our requests, for which MPC has postponed all further actions and alerts until further notice. This is not to be mistaken with us redrawing from what we need to do if the time is right! We are just maximizing the ability of communication channels before we blow up all bridges.
Creative was in touch with MPC through a marketing partner telling us they would review the possibilities of sending us a
Creative Zen Vision w for review. It was the last we heard from them, over 2 weeks ago. Even if one would be sent to us right now, it would be impossible for us to schedule the review before January so the risk of purchasing one for Christmas is all up to you. I can say it dissapoints in several ways like no support for subtitles at all and you can't use it as HDD drive without installing the software while the software is only compatible with WindowsXP. Sounds like a list of limitations again, where brands expect you to keep the latest of the latest at all times, as if you earn as much money as them. Also not all files can be copied onto it using the Media interface but through workarounds, you can. All in all, we are pretty dissapointed the whole thing for setting this up has failed, despite a promising start and every possible care has been taken by us.
