Has anyone tried to upgrade the EHP-606 with firmware available for EHP-700?
The core of the firmwares are totally different, but the hardware for both are the same (other than optical/ co-axial outputs). Please correct me if I am wrong.

Very keen to know if this is possible. Shall be sending same query to Elektron. Shall post if they reply.

I have messaged Cathy at Elektron, China. She said she will try this flashing and let me know tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Let's see..

Yes, but the core/ platform of both PCH/Elektron firmware is same.
EHP-700 uses a different interface.

I just got reply from Elektron.

They tried to cross flash as per my request and the EHP-606 crashed. They have to repair the motherboard now.

For me DTS is not an issue as my AVR decodes that. So I guess I just continue with my 606 and update with original firmwares.

reju, it seems you still have contact with Elektron-China, can you please enlighten us users, if we should just go ahead and cross flash or will they still be deliveringa proper firmware sometimes in the future. All my attempts to reach out have failed ... and since I have an universal remote using different firmware is not an issue

I checked. Chances for firmware with DTS decoding seems to be very remote!
So maybe it's the only option to cross flash with PCH firmware and use the universal remote set to PCH110.

So what is now the bottleneck ? What kind of excuses they have again ?

Concerning Cross Flashing with the popcorn hour firmware.

- Is the process can be reverted ?
- Is the VGA output working ?
- Can we buy seperately affordable remote controls "Popcorn compatible"

In preparation of cross flashing, I tried to install the regular NMT apps on an internal 4GB transcend 133x flash via an addonics sata to cf converter, but during the installation of the apps(after formatting) the screen goes black and stays there, the leds do not seem to indicate it's still doing something.

After a hard reboot it comes up again to the nmt installation wizard screen.

Is this an indication that it's not correctly picking up the storage device?

I previously managed to install the with another flash/converter combo but unfortunately I re-used it in another setup so I cannot test it again. So I bought a new addonics and transcend flash, but it's not working ...
