Default Flickering video images

Yesterday my prime 3.0 video just started to flicker.

In the menu and when streaming a video, dvd or bd the screen flickers with unpredictable amounts.. The flickering is in total random and just continues no matter what I do.

I've replaced the HDMI cable, tried a different input on the TV to exclude the problem consisting in the cable or TV which concludes me that this issue is within the prime itself.

When I rebooted the prime (power off/on) the image was good for about 1 minute and then starting to flicker again.

I felt at the back of the prime to see if the cable was still in etc then I noticed the intense heat which came from the back-right (above the network connection) of the player. It was so hot that it could barely place my hand on it.

I thought, maybe this flickering is caused by the heat and started to test.

Turned down the player and let it cool off for half an hour and then switched it back on. The image was good and stable for about 5 minutes, then the flickering started again and the back was hot.

Might be some faulty component which is causing this problem. I need to contact my retailer and ask him what to do to RMA the player. I'll keep you posted.

Any of you had the same issue?

the player is located in a space within TV furniture. is not placed on top of another electronics device which processes heat. The player has enough air rotation possibilities and is not closed off.

Default Re: Flickering video images

Sounds indeed like a heat problem. I had the same with my Onkyo receiver. (has a video processor in it) Turned out some fuse was blown....
