Internal 2,5" HDD not found
Hello,
I bought a HDI Dune Prime 3.0 including a internal 500GB HDD. It's on my invoice as well. As the manual says, there should be a icon in the main menu, but there isn't (only for BD, Setup, Torrents and Network browse). As my Dune is connected to my PC, I can find my Dune on my PC, but can't find the HDD eighter.
DivXPlayer.nl says the S/N of my Dune is correct and matches, so there should by one inside. They advised me to look here for some sollution, because unfortunately the support departments has some sicks people and nobody could help me.
Do I have to do somethng before the HDD shows up?
Regards,
Jeroen

Re: Internal 2,5" HDD not found
Did you install the latest firmware already, maybe that could help to show the HDD icon on the main menu? I had to do that for my Base 3.0 because the icons for IPTV and Internetradio weren't there due to a bug in the factory firmware version.
However, I have also a prime 3.0 with an internal HDD, but the hdd icon was there immidiately after firing up the first time the Dune with the factory firmware.
Can you browse to the hdd from your pc to the dune with smb or reach it by ftp?

On your advice I installed the new firmware. I got two extra icons (IPTV and Internet Radio), but no icon for hard disk. I have noticed when I put in a USB disk, a hard disk appears in the menu with a USB icon. So, that's OK. But no hard disk for the internal hard disk.
When I go to Setup and then Information, there's a line "System storage" with value "not attached".
On my PC I can find the Dune. I can also go to my USB stick which was still connected at the Dune. If I use FTP, I brings me to my USB stick. If I unplug that USB stick and then connect, I get an error.
Most likely the HDD disk is not properly connected, lose wire?

Re: Internal 2,5" HDD not found
About the HDD I think your right or it's not even in your Dune.
Your System storage isn't pre-configured for you. I like to use it for BD-J and internet-radio so then it's neccesary to have it installed.
For me it was done by my reseller (or HDI?) on both of my Primes 3.0 with an internal USB Flash device.
For my Base 3.0 which I got this week I had to use a external USB Flash device.
I installed the new beta-firmware which configured in the process first my System Storage on the external USB Flash Device and then launched the firmware update process immidiately after it. The external USB Flash Device has to stay attached all the time.
You can also configure the System Storage on a partition on your internal HDD if you got a solution later on.
HDI:
Advanced usage.
You can also use an individual partition of a USB flash drive or a HDD (USB HDD, e-SATA HDD, or internal HDD) as System Storage. To do it, just make the corresponding partition empty (and make it the only empty partition) and perform the System Storage initialization procedure described above. Then follow the rules for working with System Storage described above in the usual way.

So I think HDI decided for the Prime's 3.0 just as with the Base's 3.0 not to pre-configure anymore and so not to deliver internal USB Flash device's with it anymore.
Or something went wrong in your case only.

Re: Internal 2,5" HDD not found
I have exactly the same problem.
i bought mine at dixplayer.nl with the internal drive.
i have the latest firmware..but it doent show the hd on the main menu..
Does this mean divxplayer sent me one without the internal hd ??
if i go to set up and then system info..it says system storage connected..used 36.8 mb from 2.04 gig.
does this mean it has a small storage inside? but not the internal hd,becausse that one is 500gig.
i will call divxplayer over the problem..and if anyone can help me..please.

OK, I think we have. I bought mine at divxplayer.nl to.
I already called them, since I didn't get any reply at my mail the last days. Monday is a good day to call back. I think we have to sent our player back.

Re: Internal 2,5" HDD not found
No worry the drive is there!
This is the procedure:
1/ Create system storage on hard-disk
Download and run this file from a USB flash memory connected to the Dune: http://dune-hd.com/firmware/usb_flas..._partition.dsf
This reformats an empty HDD to two partitions, and initializes System Storage on one of these partitions, w/o reinstalling the firmware.
2/ Format the second partition
From the main menu, press INFO key of the RC on the selected hard-disk icon (it should be labeled 'Hard-Disk (2/2)') from the main menu and choose 'Format partition' (NOT 'Format disk').
If the procedure does not work, try before to deinitialize the already attached System Storage (in case there is already one if you tried to upgrade the firmware) with this file: http://dune-hd.com/firmware/usb_flas...em_storage.dsf, and then format the disk (see page 17 of the user manual: http://dune-hd.com/manuals). Start the procedure again.
Final check:
i- Check Home>Setup>Information that system storage is enabled: you should see 'Attached (use 36.6MB of 2.0GB)'
ii- Run FileZilla and ftp anonymously to your Dune, you should see a folder called something like 'DuneHDD_...'
Now you are all set to do an upgrade of the firmware to the beta one if you wish to test it and/or play with BD-Live.
Enjoy!
