What exactly are you trying to say here? Each computer only gets one connection. Multiple drives are handled through one connection.

as far as i know every device on the network is given a new ip address, nas, whs,pc,laptop etc,but some users are finding it hard to attach more than 1 hdd to the pc for dune to access,i think if you follow the way zappiti is set up for hdds then you can have as much as you can, even though i find that more than 14 hdds attached to the dune causes stuttering with blu-ray rips so maybe this is a limit for hdds with hd content.
no probs with 12 attached to the pc at the min,i am also using a whs pc at the moment with great success.

Yes, 14 hdd's is the limit for attached hdd's directly to the Dune.
I remember a post by HDI_DEV here that this could be easily extended to 45 with a new firmware if there was interest in it. However this post is of him was aproximately over a year ago.

Why are you trying to attached that many drives directly to the Dune? Attach the drives to a very cheap PC with a very good NIC and you should have no problems via network. I have 46+ drives attached to mine and all are online and I don't get a single stutter on any of them.
